Richard Amstutz advises and represents municipalities and administrative authorities as well as domestic and foreign companies and private individuals in the areas of energy and electricity law, environmental and zoning law, construction and real estate law, municipal law, public procurement law, general federal and cantonal administrative law as well as labour and personnel law and tenancy law.

Born in 1977, Richard Amstutz studied law at the University of Zurich and subsequently worked as a research assistant to Prof. Dr. Andreas Kley from 2004 to 2009. From 2009 to 2013, he worked in the legal department of the Swiss Federal Inspectorate for Heavy Current Installations. From 2013 to 2017, he was a court clerk and chairman of the reconciliation authority in tenancy and lease matters. In 2017, he was admitted to the bar. From 2017 to 2024, he was Head of Legal Services and Deputy Managing Director of the Federal Inspectorate for Heavy Current Installations. He has been with our law firm since 2024.

Richard Amstutz speaks German and French (native languages) as well as English.

Richard Amstutz has been a substitute judge at the District Court of Dielsdorf since 2017 and is a founding member of the OptimaSolar Züri Unterland cooperative.

Richard is powered by questions regarding electricity and energy; other high voltage interests include hard guitar riffs and romantic symphonies.
