Michael Hochstrasser
Michael Hochstrasser advises and represents domestic and foreign companies as well as private individuals in the areas of contract and commercial law, corporate law, transportation law, liability law including product liability, employment law, inheritance law/succession planning/foundations, debt collection and bankruptcy law.
Born in 1976, Michael Hochstrasser studied at the University of Zurich (lic. iur. 2002, Dr. iur. 2006). He was admitted to the bar in 2008. Michael Hochstrasser worked as a research assistant at the University of Zurich and as an auditor and legal secretary at the District Court of Zurich. Based on his habilitation thesis on the contract of carriage, the University of Zurich awarded him the Venia Legendi for the field of private and commercial law in 2015; he was appointed titular professor in 2021. He has worked for Schiller Attorneys at Law since 2007 and has been a partner since 2014.

Michael Hochstrasser is an honorary professor at the University of Zurich. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Carl Zeiss AG and WintiMed AG. He is also a member of the Zurich Bar Association, the Swiss Bar Association, the ASDA/SVLR (Swiss Association for Air and Space Law), the EALA (European Air Law Association) and the Association Arbitration Court of the Swiss Chess Federation (President).
As a passionate chess player, he is used to always thinking two or three moves ahead.
